Secret Hospital
is a sketch comedy group from New York City. Its members include four of the following:

  • a recipe for pineapple upside-down cake
  • Michael Hartney
  • the set of integers between 3 and 107
  • Rachel Korowitz
  • a harp seal wearing a baseball cap sideways
  • Dan McInerney
  • Lyndon B. Johnson's abdominal scar
  • Jeff Scherer
  • a 1972 phone book from Medicine Hat, Alberta
The other five are considered "Featured Performers."
MICHAEL HARTNEY recieved a BFA in acting from the University of Buffalo, and has studied at the American Comedy Institute and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.  He has performed sketch, improv, and stand-up comedy at Caroline's on Broadway, the UCB, The PIT, Comix, and others.   He is a member of TOSOS II Theatre Company, and earned rave reviews in Nicu’s Spoon’s Tales of the Lost Formicans.  Most recently, he played William Shakespeare in At Hand Theatre Company's Cake and Plays...But Without the Cake. He also plays Joe in the Dunkin Donuts "Breakroom" spots on Spike TV and played The Big Cheese on Nickelodeon’s WACK.


RACHEL
KOROWITZ
, the founder, producer and co-host of the Magnet Theater's long-running variety night Ash Wednesday, has been a New York-based improviser since 2001. In addition to her time at the Magnet, she has studied with and performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and The PIT; currently, she can be seen improvising at venues across the nation as a member of Chicago City Limits, and performing sketch comedy with Secret Hospital. On the small screen, Rachel has appeared in numerous commercials, multiple short films, and AMC's "Date Night." She makes her feature film debut in the upcoming comedy American Standard.


DAN McINERNEY is a New York based comedy writer and performer.  He has appeared in the Onion News Network and in commercials for Firebrand.com. Along with his current sketch comedy group Secret Hospital, and his former sketch group Skeeger, Dan has performed at The People's Improv Theater, The Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater, Comix, and Caroline's Comedy Club. Along with Dustin D'Addato, he hosts the podcast The Comedy Nerds, which can be found at www.thecomedynerds.com. Dan lives in Astoria, New York with his wife, a woman far out of his league.

JEFF SCHERER studied Writing for TV, Film & Radio at Syracuse University, and has written four screenplays, of which Skeletons was a semi-finalist both at the Austin Film Festival and on Project Greenlight. He and his friends formed the theatrical group Toolbox Productions and produced three plays, two of them at the NY International Fringe Festival, including St. Rosita & the Francophone, which he co-wrote with Jeremy Carr. Since getting involved with improv comedy, Jeff has been in over a dozen teams and shows, performing at variety shows and theaters around New York, as well as to packed houses all over the country with the touring company of Chicago City Limits. He is currently writing a children’s book, a novel and an original series for television.
